Ela Township

Located in southwest Lake County, Illinois, Ela Township began on November 6, 1849, and is named after an early settler, George Ela.  Isaac Fox donated one acre of land to the Township, which is now Ela Park and the site of the Ela Town Hall and the Township Offices. Today the Ela Town Hall Serves as the site of the Ela Historical Society on the first floor, and a community meeting room on the second floor. 

Ela Township serves 40,000+ residents and covers 36 square miles. Within its borders are all or part of the Villages of Barrington, Deer Park, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Zurich, Long Grove, North Barrington, & portions of unincorporated Palatine and Mundelein.

Ela Township Business Meetings

The Ela Township Board meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm at Ela Township hall located at 1155 E. Hwy 22, Lake Zurich, IL.
